Antalya holidays are about soaking up the sun on golden sands and enjoying the stunning resorts, activities and beaches of this beautiful part of the Turkish coastline. With fun-loving resorts, family hotels and all inclusives, the region is popular with a wide range of holidaymakers and with spacious beaches and varied hotel complexes you can enjoy as much partying, family time or relaxation as you wish. Known as the Turkish Riviera, Antalya boasts resorts including Side, Belek, Lara, Kemer and Alanya, all of which offer sunny beaches for swimming. Holidays in Antalya are a great option for family friendly getaways, with loads of watersports and waterparks nearby, plus great shopping and lots of sights. Antalya also has traditional bazaars, shopping centres and markets for great shopping. Family restaurants, rooftop bars and chilled tavernas abound and Turkish climate is made for sunseekers, with the summer season lasting well into October. If you have time, head to the beautiful Kursunlu Falls, a waterfall located in the middle of pine forest, the perfect spot for a leisurely amble or picnic.

Hit the beaches in Antalya

Antalya sits on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast so it has no shortage of sandy beaches and coves to explore. Konyaalti Beach is hailed as Antalya’s best beach because of its expansive stretch of sands, which are perfect for working on your tan. The dramatic Bey Mountains in the background add to its idyllic charm. The beach is also conveniently located in the heart of the city, with food courts close by. You can also explore cafés and restaurants in villages nearby. Cool off with Turkish ice cream – it's specially made to be extra chewy and resistant to melting on hot days. If you have a chance, check out the sand sculptures on Lara Beach, a stretch of gorgeous golden sand where you can sunbathe at leisure. In the evening, head to the nearby park to fire up the BBQ or have a picnic.

Enjoy watersports in Kemer

The village of Kemer, facing the picturesque Toros Mountains, boasts crystal-clear waters that are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Spend a day at the beach – stretching from Beldibi in the east to Tekirova – and enjoy watersports such as parasailing, snorkelling and banana boat rides. It’s also a popular diving site, with lots of bays to be explored. You can also kayak through Goynuk Canyon and its gorgeous rock formations – and stop for a swim in the freshwater pools and waterfalls. If you're travelling with young kids, head to Moonlight Beach, which has shallow waters.

Dance all night at Lara Beach

Lara Beach is dubbed as Turkey’s very own version of Las Vegas with glam hotels and lots of action. Sitting on Turkey's south coast, around 12km from Antalya, the Lara Beach strip has hotels designed to look like world landmarks. There are also several discos and nightclubs just waiting to be discovered in Kemer along the waterfront and in the centre of town. If you're planning on rocking the dance floor, hit up Aura Club and Club Inferno. The marina is  a hub of activities and has more chilled out bars and restaurants.

Stroll the Roman harbour

The Roman harbour in Antalya paints a pretty picture, with a marina dotted with yachts and boats. Located at the bottom of the Kaleici slope and surrounded by tall cliffs that plunge into the water, you can spend hours here, strolling the gardens or watching the world go by as you sip cocktails at a waterfront bar or café. The old town of Kaleici has retained its authentic charm and is dotted with shops, tavernas, restaurants and local bars.
