The most visited of all the Greek Islands, holidays in Rhodes are immensely popular. Waiting for you are more than 30 sun-kissed sandy beaches, glistening water, lively resorts, historical sites and idyllic landscapes. In short, it’s easy to see why Rhodes holidays are a firm favourite among families, couples and party-goers. Enjoy the heavenly combo of sea, sand and the warm Greek sun on gorgeous beaches that offer bundles of exciting watersports. If you want to shake things up, head for the old-world charm of Rhodes Town and walk along the ancient cobbled streets or explore the traditional sugar-cube shaped houses in the scenic town of Lindos. Further inland, charming Greek villages are dotted between the lush forests and rocky mountains. Holidays in Rhodes are tailor-made for party-seekers, with vibrant beachfront bars and clubs on tap. The buzzing resort of Faliraki is the party hotspot of Rhodes and the place to go if you're looking for unforgettable nightlife.

Beautiful Beaches in Rhodes

With over 200km of coastline, life’s a beach in Rhodes. The east coast features the best beaches, although windsurfers flock to the less sheltered south coast. The island’s busiest beach is in the lively resort of Faliraki, which offers a vast choice of activities from bungee jumping to banana boat rides. The lovely but more laid-back Lindos Beach is a welcoming contrast. For those seeking tranquility, the Blue Flag beach of Kolymbia and the quiet coves of Kalithea are perfect places to top up a tan. Families will love the Blue Flag beach of Pefkos which hosts a variety of fun watersports. Adventure seekers can windsurf or kitesurf at Prasonisi beach on the south coast, or paddleboard and kayak in the sheltered coves on the other side of the island.

Hit the Outdoors

Rhodes is an ideal holiday destination if you’re travelling with family. Faliraki Water Park is a firm favourite among travellers looking for splashtastic fun. Kids will adore the Tarzan Pool or the giant Tipping Bucket while you try out the 140m high waterslide. Or treat your little ones to a fairytale experience at the 600 acre nature reserve, Butterfly Valley. Thousands of colourful butterflies flock to the trees, streams and waterfalls at the Valley of Petaloudes during August. If it's serenity you want then visit the island of Symi, with its pretty yacht-lined harbour and pastel-shaded mansions.

Explore Historic Rhodes

Culture lovers are in for a treat in Rhodes, which like all of Greece, is steeped in history. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the island’s capital, Rhodes Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most iconic sight in the town is the Street of the Knights that leads towards the impressive Palace of the Grand Master. Travel back in time as you stroll along the cobbled streets of this Medieval city, packed with historic sites. Visit the beautiful Acropolis at Lindos, a stunning archaeological site with panoramic sea views, and head to the stunning Temple of Athena Lindia, followed by the Monastery of Panagia Filerimos, where the floor is covered in ornate pebbles and shells. If you want to experience traditional Greece, the charming villages and harbours on the island still retain an authentic feel. The large village of Afandou is 19km away from Rhodes Town and has a beautiful square with tavernas, bars and a picture-perfect beach.

The Famous Rhodes Nightlife

Party-loving tourists looking for their annual dose of holiday hedonism flock to the party-hub of Faliraki, where you can party until dawn without having to break the bank. Boasting an array of late-night bars, clubs and its own beach, Faliraki has music, colourful cocktails and a lively party atmosphere to make you want to dance the night away. If you prefer something quieter, head to Kremasti which is packed with traditional pubs, live music and a cosy vibe. Rhodes Town has a great restaurant scene and places to enjoy traditional Greek entertainment. Sip mojitos in its elegant lounge bars or listen to Greek music during fun bouzouki nights.
