Getting Around

Kalkan is compact and the restaurants, shops and bars are all easily explored by foot. You’ll find lots of lovely strolls if you enjoy walking. As some hotels can be uphill from the beach, many run shuttles to and from the town. Public transport is also available, with dolmus buses running very frequently. If you’d prefer, taxis can be hailed or booked via your hotel.

Learn to Dive in Kalkan

Kalkan is a perfect spot if you’re a fan of scuba diving, especially with the number of spectacular shipwrecks that can be found in its surrounding waters. There are more than 15 different wrecks within the vicinity of Kalkan and neighbouring Kas, so advanced scuba divers will be in their element! If you're not comfortable diving, snap up a snorkel and spot the marine life below. Or, head out on a gulet cruise from the harbour and enjoy lunch on board, snorkelling and dropping anchor in the neighbouring turquoise bays.

Kalkan's Blue Flag Beach

Soak up some Turkish sunshine at Kalkan's main Blue Flag beach, a small rocky patch with a turquoise coastline that shelves into the crystal clear waters. This is the perfect place to sit back and relax and comes complete with lively seafront cafes and bars. Plan an exciting boat trip or plunge into the warm waters for a swim or dive. There are also several beach clubs with sun loungers and beach bars dotted along the coast.
