Torremolinos is a popular tourist resort, known for its gorgeous beaches and long summers and with over seven months of glorious summer sunshine and balmy temperatures well into November Torremolinos holidays are the perfect Spanish beach escape. For family fun or a romantic couple’s retreat, holidays to Torremolinos are tailor-made for relaxation. Bask on a sun lounger on one of the resort's many beaches, explore the busy cafes and markets, play a round of golf or let your hair down at the outdoor bars and clubs. For revellers who fancy a glitzy night out, Fuengirola and Marbella lie further along the coast.

Lounge on fabulous Torremolinos beaches

With 22 of its beaches flaunting Blue Flag, there is no dearth of choice in Torremolinos if you wish to find a beautiful beach to relax. Fuengirola and Benalmadena are powdery stretches of sand and good for family fun. However, if you’d rather be away from the touristy crowds, check out Las Yucas or the Playa del Cabuelo for some solitary bliss.  

Splash in water

Torremolinos’ beaches have excellent infrastructure for watersports—from waterski to jet ski, snorkeling and windsurfing, whatever excites you can be tried here. Not the hands on type? Take a banana boat or a ringo ride. Benalmadena and Santa Amelia are fantastic venues to experience some thrilling watersports. For splashing in a waterpark with kids, head to Aqualand.  

Tour the Tivoli theme park

Tivoli theme park is the largest in Costa del Sol and its fun-filled rides will enchant young and old alike. There are over 40 attractions in this magnificent theme park ranging from roller coaster to Twister, Jurassic adventure ship and the ultimate Drop Tower with its exhilarating 60 metre drop. It will be very hard to convince your kids to leave.

Enjoy the Torremolinos nightlife

Marbella is famed for its glitzy nightlife and being the playground of the rich and the famous. Amazing tavernas, cafes and bars fill the resort town and strolling along its promenade is a good way to experience its busy vibe. The area has a slew of luxury resorts like Marbella Playa and San Fermin in Banalmadena that pamper tourists with their all-inclusive beach holidays. As the evening grows older, Karaoke bars and nightclubs like Aqwa Mist, Pangea and Kube spring into action where the party goes on till the wee hours.

If you want a party, come to Torremolinos. The seafront promenade is lined with beach bars, seafood restaurants and nightclubs that are open till sunrise. Take a dip in The Palladium's party swimming pool, sip on cocktails while in your swimsuit at The Fun Beach or try your hand at some serious salsa at Atrevete. For quieter evenings, enjoy the traditional tapas bars, catch a live cabaret show and forget all your worries with a little flamenco dancing. Take a short drive into Fuengirola for more nightlife.

Families will absolutely love Tivoli World, the Costa del Sol’s largest theme park. Ride giant Ferris wheels, take to the skies on the Twister or dare to shoot 60 metres up the Drop Tower, before free falling to rock bottom. Be sure to explore the parks other attractions including its tropical gardens or try your hand at flamenco dancing and be entertained by Spanish singers and the Tivoli Theatre where you try your hand at flaminco dancing.

Perfect if you’re travelling with youngsters, Aqualand is a waterpark about 15 minutes' away from the centre of Torremolinos. It’s the biggest waterpark in the Costa del Sol and has a variety of white-knuckle slides and flumes, as well as gentle rides, kids' pools and chill out spaces.

Both kite surfing and wind surfing are incredibly popular in the area, with the Mediterranean sea breezes providing plenty of ripples which will ensure a fun-filled experience. You can hire the gear you need from Torremolinos beach, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. Alternatively, there’s always a gentle pedalo excursion to enjoy with the kids.
