Holidays in Benalmadena on the southern coast of Spain's Costa del Sol offer tonnes of great family attractions and an upmarket resort bursting with beautiful beaches. A charming town with fine golden beaches, crystal clear waters and beautiful temperatures awaits visitors all year round. With watersports on tap, theme parks nearby, and buzzing nightlife in next door Torremolinos, the pull of Benalmadena holidays is easy to see. A number of waterparks, theme parks and zoos dot the Costa del Sol region making it a big hit with tourists of all ages. It will be difficult to tear yourself away from thrilling rides like Black Hole, Grand Canyon and Twister at Aqualand Waterpark in Torremelinos. If they want to see marine creatures such as sting rays, sharks and octopus, take them to Sea Life Benalmadena and Mariposario de Benalmadena Butterfly Park, both great days out, where more than 1,500 rare and exotic butterflies can be found.

Savour the Taste of Spain

The old town of Benalmadena Pueblo is a hidden gem of neat cobbled streets and pretty squares. Explore historic architecture and try out  delicious local cuisine. Arroyo de la Miel is the place where locals and tourists head for mouthwatering tapas. Parque de la Paloma is a popular shady park where children can see deer, hare and peacocks roaming around. Have a picnic under the trees or join the kids in a game of hide and seek.

Try Thrilling Rides

If it's thrills you like then head for Tivoli World theme park, free for kids under 1m tall, prepare for a huge adrenaline hit on rides such as the Free Fall Tower - if you dare. The park has live music and shows all day long for all ages, and a fantastic cable car ride with stunning panoramic views of the town below.
