Getting Around

The gateway to the Costa Blanca is Alicante airport, so you can say adios to long transfer times to your hotel. Car hire is available at the airport for those looking to explore the wider Alicante region. If you’re staying in the city, buses, taxis and the town’s regular tram service are all on hand when you decide it’s time to go exploring.

Beach life

The Alicante coastline is blessed with golden sands and crystal shallows. You can enjoy Playa del Postiguet which is slap bang in the city or head along the coast to discover lovely nearby resorts and quiet stretches. Calpe and Denia are popular day trips or great places to stay for a few nights. Playa del Postiguetis is busiest on Sundays when Spanish families flock to the beach. Once you’ve topped up your tan, find a bar for a sundowner on the lovely palm-fringed promenade.

Head to Shoe Heaven

This town boasts all the big high street names, plus the spectacular Spanish department store El Corte Ingles, but Alicante really comes into its own as a shoe lover’s mecca. Calle Girona is a street almost entirely devoted to shoe shops! Indulge in retail therapy in the early evening when it’s cool and calm.
