Getting Around
Praia da Rocha is easily explored on foot and there are water taxis to other beaches nearby. Hiring a car is a popular way of getting around The Algarve, giving holidaymakers the chance to explore the coast at their own pace. There is also a good bus service connecting the various coastal resorts and a large fleet of taxis in operation too. The Algarve is a perfect region for walking and cycling, with many trails to explore for those who like to soak up the scenery.
Praia Da Rocha Beach
The golden sandy beach of Praia da Rocha is one of the best-kept secrets of the Algarve. Cafes, restaurants and shops dot the Tomás Cabreira boardwalk, which runs parallel to the beach. Beyond the sandstone cliffs there are even more pretty coves.
Shopping in Tomás Cabreira Avenue
Tomás Cabreira avenue has lots of shops selling artwork, ceramics, clothes, souvenirs and is the hub of the action. The restaurants on the seaward side of the street have great views out to sea while the bars that line the street are always lively and fun. Throngs of families and friends wander the streets and stopping for ice creams every evening during the high season, giving the town a really vibrant yet family friendly feel.
