Getting Around

The main centre of Faro is fairly compact and its pedestrianised streets make it perfectly walkable. There is a reliable bus network that links the city with the beaches, the suburbs and the local airport. There are also buses and trains that can take you further afield, while taxis are on hand if you need something quick and convenient.

Car hire is readily available and is a great way of getting out and exploring the rest of The Algarve and beyond. If you do choose to hire a car, stick to the right-hand side.

Albufeira attracts families from all over the world, attracted by its countless child-friendly parks and activities.

Zoomarina theme park in nearby Guia boasts rollercoaster rides and dolphin shows the kids will love.

Aquashow waterpark in Quarteira is equally as exciting, where the family can take a dip in its large swimming pool, enjoy thrilling water flumes and watch wildlife shows.

Parque Aventura (close to Santa Eulalia Beach) is also worth a visit, where kids can take part in paintball and climb along the rope swings.

Daytime Fun

One of the best ways to enjoy this part of the Algarve is from the sea!

Book a tour on one of the catamarans and begin your journey along the coastline, passing rocky caves, grottos and cliffs.

Swim in the azure waters and enjoy a BBQ on a secluded beach.

You can even embark on a dolphin watching tour, romantic sunset sail or fishing excursions.

Enjoy the scenic coastal views from on deck and the sight of the sun setting over the horizon.
