Situated in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is small in size but scores big on natural beauty. The archipelago is known for a mind-boggling variety of birds and fish, lush vegetation and beautiful, white beaches. Holidays to Mauritius are all about luxuriating on the beaches, admiring rare bird species like the pink pigeon or the Kestrel, and indulging in some exciting watersports. Since tourism is the country’s mainstay, Mauritius boasts of some of the best luxury resorts and hotels in the world, which offer ocean-view rooms, pampering spa services and decadent seafood.
Mauritius is well-connected to the rest of the world with a large number of international flights flying in and out of the country. Adventure sports and watersports feature big on the bucket list of most that travel here. Areas like Flic en Flac, with their shallow, clear waters, are great for snorkeling. The Black River Gorges National Park, a wild expanse of green meadows and fecund forests, is a great place to check out the flora and fauna of the island.
The beaches, particularly those of Belle Mare and Palmer and Ile auf Cerfs are a great place to relax and soak up the summer sun. But they are also great places to catch a glimpse of whales and dolphins of the Indian Ocean.
