Located on the northeastern tip of the picturesque island of Malta, St. Paul’s Bay is a beautiful beach resort, featuring lively beaches, historical buildings and a plethora of shopping and dining options. Originally a fishing village, St. Paul’s Bay has evolved from a sleepy hamlet to a fabulous beach destination.
The beaches of Bugibba and Qawra are particularly popular with tourists. Bugibba has a large promenade with plenty of shops and restaurants, while Qawra is known for its raw, natural beauty. Whichever beach you head to, St. Paul's Bay is a great place to sunbathe and indulge in exciting watersports. If you fancy island-hopping, head to the sleepy (yet spectacular) sister island of Gozo – famous for its turquoise waters which offers hours of snorkelling. Malta also has a rich history and you’ll find places of historical interest located throughout the island. There is majestic Castille Palace in Valletta, the cryptic Hal-Saflieni Hypogeum, a Neolithic subterranean burial chamber, and Ggantija, a Megalithic temple complex that is supposed to be older than the pyramids of Egypt.
Lessons in history apart, the beach resort has a great cosmopolitan vibe with a pulsating nightlife. Both Bugibba and Qawra are known for their young and hip crowd and lively club scene. Holidays to St. Paul’s Bay are never complete without trying out some of the local fare, including the famous Maltese bread and savoury pastries which can be picked up in most restaurants. Finally, don't forget to check out the open-air markets where you'll find gorgeous lacework and basket-ware items. St. Paul’s Holidays are a great escape from the hectic city life.
