A buzzing nightlife, waterfront restaurants and picturesque beaches - holidays to St Julians, Malta, offer all of this and more! St Julians is a seaside town in the central region of Malta that caters for all holiday preferences. Whether you’re after a foodie getaway, a family holiday or a romantic break, this picturesque Maltese resort is guaranteed to tick all the right boxes.

Just a 15-minute drive from the capital of Valletta, St Julians is a compelling mix of historic buildings and soaring skyscrapers. It’s made up of different zones that each bring something completely different to the town, from rocky beaches to fine dining restaurants and expansive shopping centres.

Holidays to St Julians are especially popular for those looking for a thriving night scene. Spread out over a few streets, Paceville is where you’ll find bars and clubs galore, with many staying open until the early hours of the morning. Karaoke bars sit alongside themed, sports and even vintage-inspired bars, allowing you to tailor-make your evening to suit your needs. There are also several casinos dotted around for some evening entertainment with a difference.

Enjoying a Mediterranean climate, St Julians offers up perfect year-round weather for those looking to explore its historic buildings - or even taking to the water for a session of scuba diving or snorkelling. June to August are the warmest, driest months, with temperatures averaging out at around 28°C. For the rest of the year you can expect warm weather, but be aware that the risk of rainfall increases significantly between October and January. When it comes to accommodation, holidays to St Julians can’t fail to disappoint. This resort town has affordable and luxurious options to suit all budgets, with many enjoying front row seats for some of the best sea views in all of Malta.

Cool Off At St. George's Bay

Cool Off At St. George's Bay

Many of the beaches in St Julians are quite rocky, but the Blue Flag patch at St George’s Bay is one of the most picturesque in all of Malta. There’s no need to go out of your way to enjoy this small sandy bay, though - it’s in amongst the hustle and bustle of the main town, sitting on the doorstep of many hotels, casinos and an amusement park. During the peak of summer it can get busy, though, so be sure to get there early to reserve your spot! Tourists and locals alike flock to the bay for sunbathing, swimming and sunset watching.

Eat The World At Spinola Bay

Eat The World At Spinola Bay

Spinola Bay is the area to head to for sampling some of the region’s finest restaurants. A variety of eateries - from chain restaurants to local eateries - are dotted around the bay, encouraging visitors to enjoy their meals al fresco whilst overlooking the small boats in the marina. With its array of cosy restaurants and its beautiful scenery, Spinola Bay is generally considered one of the most romantic bays in Malta - it’s not surprising, then, that it’s here you’ll find an 8ft ‘Love’ statue overlooking the bay, the letters designed to be reflected the right way up in the water. This is the perfect spot to get those Insta-perfect snaps!

Try Your Luck At The Casinos

Try Your Luck At The Casinos

With three casinos dotted around the Paceville zone, St Julians isn’t short of places to try your luck on the slots and table games. There’s Casino Malta by Olympic Casino with a variety of games to hand - plus a sports bar with live entertainment on the weekends. Nearby you’ll find Portomaso Casino, complete with flashy neon lights and on-site restaurants. Probably the grandest of all three, however, is Dragonara Casino which is based within a palace that was originally built in 1870 as a summer residence for a local family. Have a flutter under the magnificent chandeliers and ornate ceilings.

Meet The Locals At Cat Village

Close to Spinola Bay is Cat Village - which is pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. The Cat Village is a little outdoor community of felines located in a narrow street! Set up around 40 years ago by a local lady, the resident stray cats are treated to their own little safe area, complete with houses, scratch posts, and even teddy bears. Cats are neutered, cared for and fed on a daily basis, making them affectionate creatures that love all the attention they can get their paws on! As a result, cat lovers will be in their element when they visit, with many of the cats happily accepting cuddles, scratches and any scraps of food.
