Take a trip to Malta and see why this beautiful island and it's crystal-clear waters is such a hit with British holidaymakers. Holidays in Bugibba are all about sunbathing, enjoying watersports and nightlife. One of Malta's most popular holiday spots, Bugibba shares a promenade that links the equally bustling Qawra and St Paul's Bay resorts. The main city square has several pubs and bars where you can grab a bite or choose to dance the night away. The waterpark next to the beach is a great place for kids to make a splash, while for day trips you can't beat a cruise to the stunning neighbouring isles of Gozo and Comino. With a range of resorts for all tastes at your doorstep, Bugibba holidays offer loads of variety.

Hit the sunny beach

Enjoy sunbathing on Bugibba's main beach or stroll the lively promenade. Malta is a great place for beach hopping and the promenade links Qawra and St Paul's Bay. Look out over St Paul's island, watch the colourfully painted fishing boats bob alongside modern yachts at the harbour, or enjoy a swim at Ta Fra Ben Beach near Qawra. Golden Bay, Malta's most popular beach, is only 10 km from Bugibba.

Enjoy watersports in Bugibba

There are plenty of fabulous places to scuba dive in Malta and snorkelling is very popular thanks to the clear waters. The two-level George's Seafront Beach Lido is lined with sun loungers and a fantastic spot for a sunny afternoon - take a dip in the outdoor pool or climb down ladders to snorkel in the sea. Kids can have fun at the waterpark just across from the beach, open from June to September.

Party at Bugibba's main square

If you're looking for evening entertainment, head to Plazza tal-Bajja, better known as the Bugibba Square, which is buzzing with cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. Discover souvenir shops as you stroll along the lanes. There's also Tourist Street or Triq it-Turisti a little ahead of the main square, where pubs offer live music and karaoke nights. Check out the local cider and Cisk lager, or if you're keen on sampling local cuisine, order the Maltese rabbit stew.

Day trips to Comino and beyond

There are a lot of attractions a stone's throw from Bugibba. Take a boat to Comino and its iconic Blue Lagoon, cruising past Sliema, Salina Bay, St. Paul's Bay and Mellieha Bay and take a boat ride around the capital of Valletta. Admire the sunset at St Paul's Bay from your boat and enjoy a swim in the waters as you wait for the sun to go down. The Grand Harbour is also a memorable sight, especially when lit up at night.
