A hidden paradise in the Mediterranean, Gozo boasts shimmering beaches framed by crystal-clear turquoise waters. But this little sister of Malta isn't just about sun, sea and sands. Holidays in Gozo offer visitors the perfect blend of coastline, windblown sea cliffs, fabulous coastal villages, picture-perfect towns and exciting nightlife. Bask in the balmy sunshine or go snorkelling during the day, and as evening rolls in, enjoy superb seafood at the beachfront restaurants while gazing out at the Mediterranean. Nights in Gozo are unforgettable with the capital city of Victoria exuding an upbeat vibe - wander along its streets to soak up the culture, mingle with locals or savour sublime Maltese cuisine. Gozo holidays are a fun-filled affair for the little ones too, as they can tour the city and glide along the promenade on a Segway. Whether you're planning a day trip from Malta's buzzing resorts or you're escaping to Gozo for a fantastic week in the sunshine, this picturesque isle has all the ingredients for a memorable holiday.

Discover the Ramla Bay

The charming Ramla Bay is rightly hailed as one of Malta's best beaches. This fine, reddish stretch of sands fringed by cerulean waters is locally known as Ramla il-Hamra, or 'red sandy beach'. What enhances the beauty of the beach is a scenic, verdant valley that cascades down to the bay. Head to this popular spot to take a dip in the sea or lounge on sunbeds. The beach kiosks and cafes will take care of your hunger pangs.

Snorkelling in Gozo

A haven for water lovers, Gozo offers holidaymakers a wealth of watersport opportunities, whether you're diving, swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving. With its clear waters and impressive surroundings, Mgarr ix-Xini is considered the best beach for snorkelling in Gozo. The Inland Sea and Blue Hole are two other favoured spots among bathers, snorkellers or scuba divers. The island's popular summer resort of Marsalforn also has beaches for swimming and snorkelling.

Iconic Azure Window

Gozo is a land of natural wonders, the most iconic of which is the Azure Window a flat-topped natural limestone arch over the Inland Sea at Dwejra. Located next to it, the Blue Hole is a natural rock formation created over centuries by wind and waves. Another must-visit landmark is the Inland Sea, known locally as Il-Qawra. The lowest spot in Gozo, this expanse of shallow water set in a deep recess is a by-product of underwater caves collapsing millions of years ago. Many of the isle's boat trips will take you through the caves, so don't forget your camera.

Wander the streets of Victoria

The capital of Gozo, Victoria was named in honour of Queen Victoria. Locals call it as Rabat, and the best way to soak in the essence of the city is to visit its lively market square, It-Tokk. Marvel at the medieval church of St. George Martyr (also called St George Basilica) and the majestic Citadel. The nightlife is convivial, with bars, cafes and clubs to enjoy a drink. For shoppers too, Victoria is a great place for picking up local crafts and trinkets. If you're looking for tranquillity, make a day trip to Gharb, or head to Nadur and admire its church of St Peter and St Paul.
