Getting Around
A leisurely stroll from one end of the resort to the other is the best way of soaking up Sorrento's sights. There is a regular bus service around the resort and taxis are also plentiful. Car and bicycle hire is also available in the area if you want the freedom to explore off the beaten track, and there’s a lift that can take you from the town centre to the beach and harbour!
Shop In The Via San Cesareo
A leisurely stroll down this beautiful street will give you the opportunity to pick up some mouth-watering morsels to take home with you - if you can hold on to them for that long without eating them, of course! Walnuts, olive oil and limoncello are very popular buys here. There are handicrafts available, too.
Sip Limoncello At A Terrace Bar
Sorrento is famous for its production of the sweet citrus liqueur, Limoncello. Made from the zest of Sorrento lemons, it is a perfect treat for an after-dinner digestif and a popular choice on the menu! Grab a table at one of the bars or cafes in the Piazza Tasso and watch the world go by as you sip this tasty and refreshing drink.
Sorrento Beach
While the centre of Sorrento is high up in the cliffs, the beaches beneath the resort are a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. It’s a steep but pleasant descent, and once you’re at the bottom you can enjoy Leonelli’s Beach. The pretty Marina Piccola is also worth a visit.
Sorrento by Horse and Carriage
If you head to the Piazzo Tasso, you'll see plenty of horse-drawn carriages waiting to take you on a pleasant ride around the town. It’s a perfect option if you’d like a romantic ride for two, especially as the sun sets. Journey through the quaint streets and enjoy rows of colourful shops and trattorias, and stop to visit the ornate Basilica.
