Holidays to Ixia are all about the sun and the sea. Ixia bay uniquely combines all the elements of a colourful, traditional settlement with those of a bustling purpose-built tourist resort. Around the hotels and apartments there is a host of shops, tavernas, bars and restaurants. It’s a pebble beach so visitors are recommended to wear beach shoes.
Sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, isolated coves lapped by crystal-clear waters and bundles of exciting diving and snorkelling activities - Rhodes offers you some of the best beaches in Greece! To the north of the island, the 8km long beach of Ixia is particularly loved by surf enthusiasts. The strong winds that blow in the area in the summer (known as meltemia), create ideal conditions for all kinds of watersporting fun. Many have described it as the coolest beach on the island.
Believe it or not, there’s more to see beyond the beaches on your Ixia holidays. Discover the medieval Rhodes Town, a stone’s throw from the resort this are oozes history and culture with architecture you’ll marvel over. This pretty resort also has a lively promenade that fringes the beaches, with traditional tavernas, shops and more to flit between as you stroll. In the evenings, the twinkling lights along the shorefront draw tourists to try a medley of delicious waterfront restaurants, serving Greek and European dishes with sea views to match.
