Experience miles of golden beaches and hip taverns on your holidays to Kallithea. This charming small town is just 20-minutes drive away from the capital Rhodes, and only 4.5 km away from the vibrant resort of Faliraki. It’s an ideal destination for families and couples looking for a quaint beach sojourn.
This laid-back destination makes for a peaceful base on your holidays to Greece. Situated on the northeast coast of island capital Rhodes, you’ll be met by a slow pace which serves up spring waters at the spa, lovely stretches of beach and hidden coves, and plenty of historic landmarks to sightsee. Kallithea Springs is a big draw in this resort, this ancient point of interest known since the Twenties for its therapeutic properties and healing waters – unfortunately the spa itself is no longer in action, but the beautiful gardens and buildings have been restored and remain a spectacle worth ticking off.
The resort itself has a small sand and shingle beach equipped with sun loungers, or there’s a small beach area below the spa too which charges three Euros for a day’s entry. Since the footfall is relatively low in these quaint coves, solo travellers and couples love these more secluded spots. While you’re here, be sure to snorkel in the underwater caves on this near-private stretch, where if you’re lucky you can spot octopuses!
Want to explore the surrounding area? There are plenty of day trips to be had with many neighbouring resorts easily accessed from Kallithea – most notably being the UNESCO-listed Rhodes Town. Admire the ancient architecture in this charming old centre, with a treasure trove of history just 10-minutes from Kallithea.
