Lounge on the beach by day, soak up the warm sun and then party the night away – that’s the allure of Kavos holidays. The 8km stretch of powder-soft sand offers a variety of activities for beachcombers and water lovers alike. Holidays in Kavos are filled with sunbathing while sipping cocktails or gaze out at the rolling azure sea. For some action-packed watersports, go jet skiing, immerse yourself in pool parties, take a leisurely boat trip, or ride a banana boat. Sundown transforms the vibe from coastal to cosmopolitan – Kavos is known as Corfu’s clubbing capital. There’s a wealth of bars, pubs and clubs that exude an upbeat vibe. For a change of pace, take a sunset walk along the beach, discover charming villages or go bargain hunting in the cobbled streets of the Old Town.
Party on the Kavos Strip
As the sun comes down, Kavos becomes infused with the party spirit, which goes on till sunrise. The numerous cocktail bars, nightclubs and pubs that line the Strip are famous and have world-class DJs keeping the tempo on a high. The clubs give Kavos the vibe of Ibiza, minus the grand entry fees! Join the fun at Future Club and Limelights, swing to the music at Eidelweiss or grab a meal at sports bar Scorers. Visit Atlantis and take advantage of the open-air club that sits on the beach.
Watersports in Kavos
The main beach in Kavos stretches 8km long and its wonderfully calm waters, and it’s where all the action takes place. If you want something more peaceful, there’s a tranquil beach about 10 minutes away in Asprokavos, where you can lie back on the sands and soak up the Greek sunshine for hours. Choose from a range of watersports, from speedboat rides to jet-skiing, as well as bungee-jumping. Take a break from the beaches and hang out in the lively bars and cafés on the sands.
Day trips to Paxos and Corfu
Of course, Kavos has its wealth of party boats. There are also snorkelling excursions if you fancy swimming rather than cocktails. Or take a boat ride to the peaceful island of Paxos, where you can explore the olive groves of the village Lakka, waterfront taverns in Loggos and shop at chic Gaois. You can also explore the unique sea caves of Papanikolis, cruise the Blue Lagoon and enjoy lunch at the fishing village of Sivota. Corfu, the island’s capital, is less than one-hour drive away. Marvel over the old fortress and iconic buildings, or ride on horses through the rolling hills, before stopping to admire views of pretty bays and impressive gorges.
Eating out and shopping in Kavos
With so much to choose from, you could eat at a different restaurant every day of your holiday in Kavos. Go for traditional Greek or grab Italian or British fare and find amazing eateries serving fresh fish and seafood. Shopping in Kavos is mostly limited to souvenir shops, selling handmade crafts and trinkets. For more options, head to Corfu to pick up leather goods, ceramics, lace and silver.
