Holidays in Los Gigantes centre around the stunning black sand beach Los Guios, a perfect place to relax and unwind. This quaint seaside-hilly town sits on the southwest coast of Tenerife and is surrounded by dramatic 300-metre high cliffs. In the heart of the town is an idyllic marina where you'll find lively karaoke bars and restaurants dishing up fresh seafood. Life moves at a leisurely pace here but if you want to liven things up during your Los Gigantes holidays, you can explore Playa de la Arena or head to neighbouring party town Playa de las Americas, just 25-minutes' away. Spend your days lounging at the nearby lidos, enjoying watersports or soaking up the cafe culture at the beach bars. Enjoy an evening of entertainment and classic Canarian cuisine in the marina, lined with lively cabaret shows and lounge bars serving up Tinto de Verano - the tasty local tipple!
Los Gigantes is warm all through the year, meaning you can visit this gorgeous resort whenever you want to. The summers are dry and hot while the winters experience much cooler months, yet the temperature remains pleasant. Getting Around
Public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore Tenerife's resorts, but most visitors tend to use taxis and hire cars. If you enjoy exploring on foot, there are hiking trails around the resort where you can walk or cycle while you soak up the scenery. If you want to explore further afield, hop on a boat and go to one of the neighbouring islands.
Lively Los Gigantes
The pretty marina is lined with lively cabaret and lounge bars that are vying for your attention. Fresh seafood is in good supply here, so grab a bite to eat and watch the boats come and go across the Caribbean. The main street is also filled with karaoke bars and pubs, so stroll along the busy streets as you sip happily on Tinto de Verano, a local drink of red wine and lemonade!
Sail To Masca
There are plenty of water-based activities to enjoy at Los Gigantes for those that like to make a splash! Cruise to the unspoilt island of Masca on a glass-bottom boat and look out for whales and dolphins as you go. Lounge at one of the many lido complexes complete with bars, restaurants and attractions (you'll find a popular one near Los Guios beach). Or head to Laro Parque where you can see flamingos, whales, gorillas and giant tortoises!
Pretty Playa del Duque
The dark volcanic sands of Los Gigantes beach are sheltered by towering cliffs known as 'The Giants'. Sunbeds and parasols are aplenty and kids can take to the waters and try their hand at jet-skiing and parasailing.
Tenerife's Markets
Los Gigantes' colourful stalls sell locally produced goods and you'll often find yourself buying more than you intended! There a few markets open throughout the week and several boutique shops can be found in and around the resort. They are a little pricier than the market, but well worth exploring.
