A local market next to the marina come to life every Wednesday and Saturday, selling a variety of locally sourced goods. Hike Montana Roja

Overlooking Playa Blanca is Montana Roja, a huge sleeping volcano, which is popular with hikers. The views of the surrounding area are stunning from the top, making it worthwhile reaching the summit. Spring and autumn are favoured times to visit, when the island has loads of activities on offer, blue skies but more gentle temperatures. See stunning nature at Los Hervideros,  a series of unusual caves and blow holes formed by lava (the name translates to Boiling Water). Just a 15-minute drive from the resort of Playa Blanca, this spectacular scenery makes for an unforgettable day out.
