Hidden behind a dune-lined nature reserve on the sunny south coast of Menorca is the pretty hillside resort of Son Bou. This popular tourist town is abuzz with activity yet maintains its laid-back vibe. Brilliant white stretches of sand gently slope into the sea on Menorca’s longest beach and despite being a busy spot, there's always a space to prop up your sun lounger. You'll find fun for all

Getting Around

Son Bou is easy to get around on foot but bear in mind that the beach is accessed close to the two big Sol hotels - so if you’re staying on the other side of town, you'll have a long walk to your sunlounger! If you’ve hired a car, you should find the roads easy to navigate. Otherwise, taxis are readily available for day trips and evenings out and the resort is served by a regular bus service, too.

Discover Mahon, Ciutadella

Walk the cobbled lanes of nearby Ciutadella and you'll pass pavement shops selling souvenirs, grand cathedrals and waterfront cafés where you can watch boats bobbing in the waters. If you're a fan of panoramic views make the drive to Monte Toro (the highest point of the island) it's well worth it! Or set sail to Menorca's capital Mahon and appreciate the street's rich history, quaint shops and superb nightlife scene!

Discover Club San Jaime

If you're travelling with kids, it's worth taking the 10-minute stroll to the Club San Jaime. This play park is part of a hotel complex and comes complete with an impressive wooden-maze, water slides, swimming pools and a grassy area sprinkled with sunloungers. If you can tear the kids away from the amusements, enjoy an evening meal in the poolside restaurant before hitting the nightclub here after dark.
