The less hedonistic little sister to Magaluf, Palma Nova holidays are full of fantastic beaches, fun bars and waterfront eateries. Three spectacular beaches make up a horse-shaped bay, ruled by the central Playa Palma Nova, a Blue Flag beach which is also family-friendly. During the long sunny days, fun is focused on the beach at Palma Nova where there are loads of watersports to enjoy and rows of brightly coloured umbrellas and loungers where you can top up your tan.
If you're feeling adventurous, tee off at Golf Fantasia, try your hand at go-karting or brave the thrilling rides at local waterparks. There is just as much to enjoy at night on your Palma Nova holidays as there is during the day, with plenty of karaoke bars, cocktail lounges and waterfront venues to try before pottering down the promenade towards the lively Magaluf Strip, which is right next door. For quieter evenings, drive to the capital city of Palma where you can enjoy traditional tapas, shop for Majorcan gems and stroll down the streets of the charming old town.
To reach Palma Nova, fly to Palma airport in east Majorca, about 26km from the town and 23 minutes by taxi. Palma Nova has a hot summer thanks to its Mediterranean climate, with the temperature averaging between 22°C and 25°C from June till September, with highs peak of 30°C in August, when it’s the hottest. You can expect sunny days in April and May, too, when the beaches are less crowded.
