Getting Around

Palma is a compact network of pretty lanes and alleyways, therefore walking is your best bet for general sightseeing and exploring. Bikes are available for hire too, but be wary of careless drivers. If you’re after something a little romantic, horse drawn carriages can take you around the historic centre. Taxis are readily available in Majorca, ask about the fare before getting in though. There’s also a vintage train between Palma and Puerto de Soller, and two metro lines.

Sightseeing In Palma City

Majorca’s stylish capital is the heart of the island's art, museum and shopping scene. Visit the spectacular cathedral, wander the old town, linger on cobbled streets lined with boutiques, marvel at the yachts in the glitzy marina, visit tapas bars for a long lunch or spend time at the open-air music concerts during the summer months. Capture some more culture and explore poet Robert Graves’ house in nearby Deià, or spend an afternoon sampling fine wines in the beautiful village of Binissalem.

Train Ride to Soller

Hop on the city's vintage train and enjoy a picturesque ride to the pretty town of Soller. Along the way you'll travel through tunnels that burrow through the Tramuntana Mountains, pass through scented pine forests and stop at hidden villages and towns. Once you've arrived in pretty Port de Soller, pick up something special from a craft shop or enjoy a tapas lunch at the beautiful seafront.
