Essential Information
Getting Around
Public transport in Tunisia is extensive and taxis are plentiful. Taxis come in two kinds – private metered ones that are used in resorts and cities, and louages (minivans), which are available for long haul drives. The capital, Tunis, has an electric train network and a tram system, too. Elsewhere, the bus service is the preferred method of travel.
Travelling by bus or car
Most towns and resorts have their own bus service, which can connect you to the nearby areas as well as attractions in and around town. Travel is usually incredible cheap, but buses can get very full during peak times.
In Tunisia, you drive on the right-hand side. The extensive road network means that you can get around the country with ease, but in cities and towns the traffic can be chaotic.
