Getting Around

Transport in Egypt is generally efficient and getting from A to B should be easy. Taxis are a great way of travelling between cities and resorts, and car hire is also possible. The bus network is extensive and runs regularly, while microbuses can be found pretty much everywhere. Cairo has a Metro and tuk-tuks can be found in some cities and towns. Within the resorts, two legs are all you need!

Travelling by bus or car

Buses and microbuses are available and are a cheap way of travelling around and between Egypt’s holiday hotspots. It’s the local way to travel, and timetables should be available in your hotel.

It is possible to hire a car, either from the airport or from within your resort. However, drivers need to be at least 25, and you’ll want to be a confident driver as locals and traffic congestion can cause problems. Drive on the right-hand side.

Passports and Visas

You usually need a visa, which can be attained at the airport for $25USD. Visitors to South Sinai resorts can visit for 15 days without one. Passports should be valid for 6 months.
