Places to Go and Things to Do
Watch the Sunset from Charles Bridge
If you’re in Prague with your other half, a romantic walk along pretty Charles Bridge is a must. Gaze up at the towering baroque statues that line the parapets along the 500m walkway and stop to appreciate the great views of the city. The bridge is most atmospheric in the evening, offering beautiful sunset views of the hill-top castle. Continue to stroll through the city's stunning old town, where you can check out the Astronomical Clock in Wenceslas Square.
Soak up the Culture
Culture spills from every corner in Prague, with many museums, galleries and ancient delights to explore. Once you've ticked off Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and the Astronomical Clock, check out the Estates Theatre (one of the most beautiful in Europe), which once saw performances by Mozart. The Dancing House is a stunning abstract building that houses one of Prague's leading French restaurants and Municipal House is one of the finest art nouveau buildings in Europe. Wander down the cobblestones of Prague's Lesser Quarter and visit Wallenstein Palace Gardens and St Nicholas Church or step back in time in the ancient streets of Golden Lane within the Prague Castle complex.
Prague Beer Museum
A city break to Prague is not complete without sipping on a proper pint of beer. The Prague Beer Museum, located in the city centre, is a popular up-beat pub that welcomes larger lovers and boasts the best bohemian brews in the city – with no less than 30 Czech-produced beers on tap. If you're not sure what you want to sip, ask for a sample board and choose five different beers to try.
Sail Down the River
Cruise through the heart of the city on a Vltava River tour. Many of Prague's popular sights and attractions can be found along the river bank so embarking on one of these popular trips is the perfect way to see them all in the same day. Holidaymakers can also enjoy dinner and drinks as they cruise the river. Soak up the sights and the sounds on the Prague Jazz boat or have the best of both worlds and settle for a city tour and river cruise in one. Look out for Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and Frank Gehry’s abstract ‘Dancing House’ along the way.
