With over 160 km of coastline, it's little surprise that thousands flock to this gorgeous stretch of Spain for their summer holidays. Costa del Sol holidays are all about sun, sand, sea and sangria (of course), and whether you’re living the high life in Marbella, hitting the karaoke bars of Torremolinos or wandering around the art galleries of Malaga, the Costa del Sol is a crowd pleaser.
There are beautiful luxury hotels on the Costa, with self-catering apartments for those who like the freedom to explore at their leisure alongside half-board holidays and all-inclusive deals, the Costa del Sol has it all. Hit the towns with friends, enjoy the beach and watersports or have family fun at the parks, waterslides and pools.
Most flights to the Costa del Sol touch down in Malaga airport which has good public transport links to the main resorts. You can also get a taxi or hire a car here. In the resorts, most hotels are within walking distance of beaches, bars and restaurants but if you want to go further afield, taxis are in plentiful supply too.
All the main resorts are connected to each other and Malaga by a clean, reliable bus service, which makes bus travel an affordable and easy option for getting around the Costa del Sol.
Local drivers on the Costa del Sol are used to hordes of tourists joining them on their roads in the summer. As a result, if you stick to the right, you should find driving here fairly easy.
